Protentella Lipps, 1964 (*1871), p. 122.Test small, flattened, biumbilicate, globular chambers increasing rapidly in size as added, early stage in low trochospiral, later planispiral, five to six radially elongate chambers in the final whorl, sutures radial, depressed, periphery rounded, peripheral outline deeply lobulate; wall calcareous, perforate, surface cancellate in appearance with deep circular to polygonal pore pits and steep pore ridges; aperture a high interiomarginal equatorial arch bordered by a thickened lip.
