Further high-grade copper intersections in Botswana

Discovery Metals has announced the results from the latest 15 infill drill holes, completed late in 2007, as a part of the pre-feasibility study being undertaken at the Zeta Prospect at the company’s Maun Copper Project in northwest Botswana. The results from these 15 holes include 6m @ 2.3% Cu and 32g/t Ag, 8m @ 2.2% Cu and 45g/t Ag, 7m @ 2.2% Cu and 45g/t Ag and 8m @ 2.1% Cu and 10g/t Ag. According to Discovery, these holes were completed on 150 to 200m spaced sections within the central portion of the Zeta Inferred Mineral Resource, which previous studies have indicated has the potential to be mined via an open pit method. The Zeta Prospect currently contains an Inferred Mineral Resource of 27.1Mt @ 1.3% Cu and 21 g/t Ag, at a cut-off of 0.6% Cu. Discovery Metals’ Managing Director, Brad Sampson said: “These results are very encouraging as they suggest that the copper-silver mineralisation in the centre of the Zeta Resource is both higher grade and thicker than previous drilling had indicated.” “These results have again exceeded our expectations as they have further extended the greater than 2% copper high-grade zone in the centre of the Zeta Resource to now greater than 2km in strike at shallow depth,” he said.
