Carbonate Microfacies of Permian in zal section
Abstract:
The Permian rocks in Zal consist of a thick sequences of continental, carbonate and shale which attributed to Asselian to Dorashamian stages, and it can divided into four lithostratigraphical units, including Dorud, Surmaq, Julfa and Ali Bashi formations respectively.
Facies analysis and petrographic studies led to recognition of 12 microfacies belonge to open marine, Bar, lagoon and tidal flat subenvironment.
A homoclinal ramp platform is suggested for deposional environment of middle and late Permian.
