The study of redox effects on ilmenite & titanomagnetite phases in Qara-Agaj concentrate
Abstract
Oxidation and reduction operation on Qara-Agaj ilmenite and titanomagnetite concentrates is conducted as a preparation operation. Oxidation tests have been done on concentrates in different time & temperature intervals. That was the case for reduction tests. The samples ore poured in graphitic spring, being placed in Mafeli Furnace. Conducted tests and study of polish sections suggest that: suitable oxidation is conducted for concentrate in 1000 oC temprature and more in long term but 1050 oC temperature and long terms for titanomagnetite concentrates. Oxidation of ilmenite an titanomagnetite concentrates in 1000 oC leads to pseudobrookite and rutile, increasing the kinetics of the reaction.
