One of the most critical parameters in mining operation is cut-off grade. cut-off grade alteration can change the average deposit grade, ore and waste tonnage and finally change other parameters such as net present value, cash flow of projects, age of projects, recovery and ultimate pit limit. There are numerous methods to determine the cut-off grade. These methods are using in order to optimization in mine design stage. Numerous parameters need to determine cut-off grade in this methods. Another problem that the miners confront it, is Cut-off grade estimation for multiple metal deposit. The ordinary cut-off grade estimation methods are difficult and not useful. One of the new methods that presented in this field, is Using the equal cut-off grade.
In this paper, exhibit new method in order to cut-off grade estimation using ore point value and with this method determined the cut-off grade of Songon copper mine and Goshfil lead-zinc mine. Comparison between calculated cut-off grade and ordinary methods in that mines, show the same result. Cut-off grade estimation using ore point value in one and multiple metal deposit is easy and need the lesser parameters than other methods. This method can use in feasibility study stage because of need limiting information.
