THE EFFECT OF THE SHOW AND BASTAK’S BASEMENT FAULT ON STRUCTURAL EVOLUTION SHAMILU ANTICLINE

Abstract:

Shamilu anticline with the trend of about N100 is one of the zagros fold and thrust belt. This anticline is surrounded with the two salt plugs in the east and west plunges. The deviation and movement in the middle of anticline axis cause that the anticline divide to two eastern and western sections. In the UGC (under ground contour) map of Shamilu anticline, in the 4000 (m) depth this structure has two eastern and western Sections. There are Show and Bastak basement fault in the west and east of the anticline and they have caused that salt plugs reach to the earth surface ;( according to Furst 1990). Also along of their movement, rotation and cutting of structure can be observed. Therefore the Shamilu anticline have been moved and deviated by the activities and performance of that two faults.
