Abstract:
Undestanding of in-situ and induced stresses conditions, is a basic and important part of design process in subsurface structures. Because in many cases in subsurface structures induced streeses are more than rock strength and it causes unstability. Thus it is necessary to obtain the magnitude and direction of in-situ stresses in the design of tunnels, or predict its condition truly, Because these parameters affect the induced stresses around the tunnels.
This paper deals with the condition of in-situ stresses in the Kasilian tunnel in the Central part of alborz mountain. Also, through the use of numerical analysis, recommend the field measurement of stress ammont.
