As a principle law, in the drilling operation, mud pressure must be more than formation pressure, but less than rock strength. In the case of unsuitable mud pressure exerssion, induce fracture will appear in the wellbore, which will cause major destructive problems, such as mud loss and drilling pipe stuck.

In this paper role of the drilling mud pressure in causing wellbore fractures, in the Ahwaz oil fields, have been studied and suitable mud pressure have been calculated and introduced.
