Oja-Gheshlaq Formation (Tulon section) is located in east of Dasht-Moghan area in north of Ardebil. This formation is sand and shale dominated and with a thickness of 1400 m has been recognized as a petroleum source rock.
By studying on planktonic foraminifera of this formation with isolation method and by observation and recognition of indicator species in samples of upper and lower part of Oja Gheshlagh Formation , three Biozone were introduced and a correlated with Zagros and other places in the world
