abstract
Rapidly growing data volume and management complexity make decision makers require data independent from time and location. GIS as a SDSS (Spatial Decision Support System) has a great role in spatial decision-making processes and accessing to ubiquitous spatial data. World Wide Web (WWW) challenges this need with serving on-line information. The bottleneck is, however, the data transfer rate. Web developers introduce new and flexible languages to facilitate web application developing. One of these languages is SVG (Scaleable Vector Graphics), which is developed for flexible web graphical displaying. The objective of this paper is to introduce a new approach in spatial data sharing, through Internet and developing GIS functionality on them, using SVG language.
