ABSTRACT
The crystal structure of dinuclear ruthenium(l1) complex, cis,cis-p-2,3,5,6-Tetra-2- pj rid) lpyrazinerc3~',N2.('N:K 3N3 .N ".N'-bis[dichloro(di~nethylsulfoxide- S)rutheni~~m(II)] dihydrate acetone disolvate , [(Ru(DMSo)C12)2(11- tppz)].1MezC0.2t120 has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. Purple crj stals of [(Ru(DMSO)C12)2(p-tppz)].2Me2C0.2Hw:e0re grown by diffusion of acetone into an aqueous solution of the complex, This colnplex has a triclinic crystal system (2-2) and space group of Pi with a = 11.994 (6) A, b = 12.477 (7) A, c = 13.345 (7) A, a = 77.227 (7)", 8 = 81.505 (7)", y = 89.837 (7)", and V- 1925.3 (18) A'. The structure was refined by using 8537 independent
reflections, with 1>2ojI) to an R factor of 0.035. ORTEP of the co~iiplexs hows each ri~thenium ion is in a distorted octahedral coordination in which the chloro ligands arc cis to each other and DMSO is coordinated through sulfur atom.
