Location 20th symposium on geosciences
Holding Date 16 April 2008

This study is an attempt to examine the Landslide potentials in Nojian Area and the zonation of Landslide in that Area Nojion is Located 30 Km away in the South East of Khoramabad with the Area of 34491 Hectars This Area has the highest amount of sedimentation Locating within the Limits of ater shed basin of Dez Dam. In order to zonate the risk of Mass movement first the natural maps including geology slope slopedirection landuse regional fault maps the intensity of the earthquake etc were prepared. in the second stage this data was digitalized Then by drawing on field work , Arial photo and digital data from satelite Landslide — prone zones including filling and sliding one were drawn on the base map of the respective region by incorporating natural maps with the Landslide ones , the extent of sliding in different parameters was obtained. finally through culculation of statistical method (surface density) for each parameter Lithology slope , slope direction , distance from foult ,Landuse , intensity of the raining , intensity of the earthquake and etc The numerical value for each parameter was obtainted by matching and zonation landslide map was obtained finallay the resaults of the study shown that 81 precent landsliding of the region include high and very high risk
