Sistan Plain which lies upon 1-lirmandRiver Delta is a vast flat plain. Zahol city the center of Sistan is nearly located in the center of this plain. The transportation of great amounts of sediments in the past periods has decreased the depth of this lake and it cases that elevation of Zabol city at the moment in a lower than some parts of Hamoon Lake. Therefore, some embankments have been constructed around the city for protecting it against HinrmandRiver floods. One of the problems which the city has confronted during the recent years is the destruction of these cmhankments and the great damages caused to urban structures. Due to formation ol Sistan Plain from fine-grained soil such as silt and clay, the probability of demolition of the cmbankments in some of these soils can be ofdispcrsivity. In this paper the Sistan Plain soils will he studied in term of dispersivity. Thus, 20 samples from different parts of Sistan Plain have been tested in various ways with regard to dispersivity in the Engineering Geology Laboratory in University of Tarbiat Modaress.
