   General:
The goal of this study is to generate a lineament map using GIS and remote sensing based method. Lineaments are the significant lines of the landscape which reveal the hidden architecture of the rock basement (Hobbs, 1912). A simple and efficient algorithm is proposed to generate a lineament map from satellite imagery, integration of DEM and Visual interpretation and false color composites obtained from PCA technique.
Also, spatial domain filtering prewitt and sobel filters are utilized for extraction of lineaments.
Directional and illumination filters play important role in the enhancement of linear features.
