General:
In order to study the Bangestan reservoir quality in KilurKarim Oil Field (KKOF), located in Boushehr province (South of Dezfoul Embayment), petrophysical properties of this field were investigated. Out of six oil wells in the field, four are drilled to Bangestan reservoir rocks, and among them well number 6 is the deepest one.
In this reserch work, Bangestan reservoir in KKOF was studied, later, logs, petrophysical well reports and thin sections of well cuttings were compared. Then litostratigraphic columns, isovalue maps and correlation charts were drowned and the reservoir was classified into eight zones. Amongst these subdivision zones, lower part of zone 4 and upper part of zone 5 are graded the best, since their porosity and water saturation dominates over other zones. Lafan shale member, which occurs between 11am and Sarvak formations, is pinched out due east of the field and finally vanishes. The eastern part of Bangestan reservoir in KKOF since oil-water contact is too high, the eastern part of Bangestan reservoir in KKOF could not act as an oil reservoir.
Key Words: Bangestan, KilurKarim, Dezfoul Embayment, Petrophysics, Porosity, and Water Saturation.
