Abstract:
Stone durability against weathering was investigated on ten dimensional stone quarries from Fars province by using sulfate salt crystallization test. The obtained coefficient factors from regression curves are 0.706 and 0.633 for weight loss - porosity and weight loss - water absorption respectively. Regarding these parameters the studied dimensional stones are divided into three groups including: resistant, semi-resistant and weak rocks. This classification can be used in selection of dimensional stones in exterior applications such as facing stones.
