Abstract:
Tekye-Bala iron deposit is located northeast of Songhor, KermanshahProvince, in northwestern part of metalliferous and tectonometamorphic Sanandaj-Sirjan zone. The outcropped rocks are mainly monzonitic rocks and to a lesser amount diabases which intruded the aformentioned rocks as small and thin dikes. The intrusive has been deformed and mylonitized in parts in an E-W trend which hosts the iron mineralization as lenses which occurred along schistosity. The position of ore occurrence in the host rocks, tectonics and intense deformation governing the ore-hosting parts, as well as the geochemistry of major, minor and rare earth elements and some ratios between rare earth elements indicate iron ore occurrence in Tekye-Bala shear zone under the influence of hydrothermal fluids of magmatic origin.
