   Abstract:
The value and importance of coal is depended on to a few parameters. Among these, plastometery is the one that indicates cock ability of the coal. Due to its importance in coal assessment, it is necessary to determine it somehow. In practice, the value of this quality parameter is determined by a set of laboratory analysis, which is performed on coal samples are provided by exploratory excavation. These processes are time-consuming and also expensive. As there is plenty of well log data in each of the coalfield, so in this paper it is intended to find their relationships with plastometery, which is a main coal quality parameter. The obtained relationships could then be used to predict its values in those areas that have less explored. To achieve the goals, the data of 28 exploratory boreholes one of the coalfield which is located in the eastern Alborz (Olang area) are used. The obtained results indicate that among the available well log data; gamma-gamma log data show a good correlation with plastometery so that the established relationship is able to predict its values with an error less than 5 percent.
