   Abstract:
In the recent years, using GIS is a common method in different field, including ground water. Today this technique is wildly applied due efficiency in modeling and zonation in ground water resources.
Quchan-Shirvan plain is a part of Atrak basin with an average elevation of 1250 m above mean sea level. This plain classified as a semi arid area, with an annual average precipitation of 282 mm and average temperature of 11.3 ?C.
In this research, GIS method has been used for the assessement of ground water resources. For this purpose, different maps including deep slope, geology, geomorphology, soil type, etc were used. A quantity model for Quchan plain was also carried out according to Kamaraju and Krishnamurthy methods. Calibration of the model has been done based on the available data from drilled wells.
