Abstract:
Sediment yield of a watershed is influenced by different factors such as geology and climate. Among these factors, erosive geologic formation is an important factor. In this study, the effect of formations erodibility of neighbor provinces of Karoon watershed on sediment discharge was investigated. The results of regression analysis showed that sediment discharge is a function of watershed area, flow rate and the ratio of formations erodibility. According to these factors, the contribution ratio of each province was calculated and showed that Chaharmahal and Fars provinces have the highest and lowest effect on sediment discharge of Karoon watershed, respectively.
