Abstract:
Hizomi mountains are located in Khartooran, 200 km southeast of Shahrood. These mountains are comprised of limestone and include groundwater resources with high quality, which the main portion of this flow is discharged into adjacent alluvial deposits. Due to steep slope and existence of bare rocks in a significant part of these mountains, in most rainfall events a portion of the rainfall travel outside the mountains as floods, which has a high quality. In this paper, the characteristics of Hizomi mountains and their relationships with the quality of groundwater resources and floods are considered.
