Petrographical and mineralogical evidences of incongruent melting in peridotites and magmatic liquids percolation in the Neyriz ophiolite
Petrographical evidences in the mantle sequence rocks of the Neyriz ophiolite show incongruent melting of orthopyroxenes, leading to the formation of magmatic liquids. The magma rosed through the thick dunitic dykes and percolated into the harzburgites, then crystallized interstitial clinopyroxenes and spinells. Mineralogical evidences indicate that there are two different passing magmatic liquids. One which was enriched in Al, Ni and Cr, percolated into the harzburgites, the other rich in Ti formed dykes, showing differentiational character.
