Abstract:
Field and petrographic studies of igneous rocks in Ghoch Palang area, North east Kashmar, indicat outcropts of Eeocen volcanic rocks with intermediate composition (andesite to latite) and also pyroclastic rocks and tuffs with black to grey colore. Intrusive rocks such as monzogranite, granodiorite, monzonite, quartz monzonite and dacitic dykes intrude the volcanic and pyroclastic assemblages. This volcano plotonic sequence strongly effected by alteration and replaced by epidote, chlorite, serisite and kaolinit. In base on the microscopic studies, two alteration zones are recognized: (1)propylitic alteration zone including epidote, chlorite, and some serisite accompanied by carbonate veinlets; (2)Argillic zone including clay minerals, serisite and some epidote.
