Distinction of auriferous and barren zones in Muteh gold deposit based on fluid inclusion studies

Abstract:
      Muteh gold deposit is the only active gold mine in Iran, which is located in 35 km south of Delijan town. The gold mineralization occurred in mylonitized acidic volcanic rocks of rhyolite and dacite type and metamorphic rocks of Precambrian age. Mineralization occurred in fractures and faults of NW-SE direction in association with pyrite. Fluid inclusion investigation in barren and mineralized quartz veins indicated that it is possible to distinguish them based on fluid inclusion characteristics. Range of homogenization temperatures and salinities of fluid inclusions in barren and mineralized veins are 180-300 ?C, 2-10 %wt and 100-180 ?C, 10-30 %wt respectively. The pressure and density of these fluids are also different.The gold mineralization style in Muteh deposit is similar to quartz vein type deposits.
