Abstract:
Sheyvar Dagh intrusion (Ahar batholith) with a lithological composition of quartz monzonite to granodiorite (Oligocene in age) has been intruded into Upper Certaceous sedimentary and Eocene volcanic rocks in Alijavad area. 4 type of mineralization have occurred in the area: 1) metasomatism 2) hypogene 3) oxidized supergene 4) reduced supergene, that each of these is distinguishable by special minerals. Mineralogy, alteration zoning, joints and fracture density, sulfide mineralization in the form of dissemination, stock work, fracture-filling, presence of iron oxide cap in upper horizons and fracture-filling secondary sulfides under water table, presence of promising anomalies of Cu and Au indicate similarity of the Alijavad area with porphyry copper systems. Presence of enriched hypogene mineralization is inferred in lower depth.
