   Abstract:
One of the important deposits for the rare earth element mineralization is the iron-apatite deposit. The iron-apatite deposit of central Iran was studied for this purpose. On the basis of this study, iron-apatite deposits of Gazestan, Esphordi, Zarigan, Lakeh-siah, Chador-Maloo, Choghart, Shekarab, etc. contain of rare earth element mineralization. REE content in the Esphordi deposit is between% 1.27-%1.65, Gazestan deposit is between %1.1-%1.75 and Zarigan deposit is between %0.78-%1.15. On this basis, Esphordi, Gazestan and Zarigan deposits are the best areas for REE exploration. According to spatial distribution of iron-apatite deposits in central Iran and REE content in these deposits, we can conclude that significant resources of REE are being in this region.
Because of the use of REE in new technology and dependency of industrial society to these elements and also economic value of REE, the study and production of REE is necessary as a suitable target for economic development of our country.
