Study of Engineering Characteristics of Rock Masses inAlong of Hamedan- Ganjname- Tooyserkan Road

The road of Ganjnameh-Tuyserkan is a mountainous road, located in the southwest of Hamedan and access to the Tuyserkan is possible from this road. It should be noted that the main road of Tuyserkan is the road between Malayer and Tuyserkan. The lithology of the rock masses in Ganjnameh-Tuyserkan includes different types of granite, granodiorite, diorite, hornfels slate and different types of mica and garnet schist. In order to study the engineering properties of these rock masses along to the road, the studied area was divided into seven sections. These sections have best outcrop of lithology and very bad appearance conditions from point of view of rock slope stability. In each station, a comprehensive geological mapping program was done. During the site investigation period, factors affecting to the engineering qualification of the rock masses, were studied.
Based on the field data, the rock masses in the studied area were classified using RQD, RMR and Q classifications systems. Correlation between three systems has been done. According to results of rock mass classification systems, it was concluded that the quality of the rock mass from studied area, shows a very good and good quality.
