Abstract:
      The third koohrang tunnel with 23409m long and 4.1m diameter is under construction to transfer water from Karoon to Zayande-rood watershed. The tunnel is situated in high Zagros zone that include many main thrusted faults.
   The presence of shear zone fractures in the carbonate rocks of Asmary formation developed many solution cavities of various dimension and size, so grouting method was selected to improver the quality of rock mass around the tunnel.
