Usage of Numerical Methods in Analysis of undergroundExcavations Stability Base on Earth Reaction Curve

   Abstract:
      Roadways support has always been an important and expensive operation in underground excavations.
   In this paper, a suitable and simplified solution for the support design of underground roadways, together with a mathematical model, has been introduced. The model is based on numerical methods and can be used to analyze the stress and deformation in the surrounding strata. Several values for the pressure exerted on the supports have then been used in order to devise the characteristic line of the excavation. Various support lines have then been considered and the most economical one adopted.
   The procedure explained in this paper can be used by the mining design engineer to decide on the most appropriate support system for underground roadways.
