Jarosite occurrence in Altered Granodiorite of Ghohrud

   Abstract:
      Miocene plutonism in central Iran is caused the emplacement of Ghohrud intrusive body with tonalitic composition. After Miocene time some parts of southern margins of this huge body have undergone hydrothermal alterations includes: silicification, sericitization, tourmalinization and jarositization. Silicification and formation of jarosites with iron oxides are the latest in hydrothermal processes. The geochemistry of jarositic rocks has shown the late oxidation and the existence of Pb, La, Ba, Ca, Na and Ce anomaly.

General:
