Microstructural relationships between garnet and biotite porphyroblasts and deformation phases in the oldest unit of Tambor metamorphic complex (Kerman)

   Abstract:
      Microstructural and petrographical data from the oldest unit of the Tambor complex, suggest that three phases of metamorphism and two phases of deformation have been occurred. Relationship between porphyroblast growth and foliation, suggests that multiple episodic garnet growth has been existed. This is identified that garnet porphyroblasts in one period of deformation has been occurred. But it may shows truncation in its inclusion trails. S1 and S2 schistosity and syn-tectonic garnets have been formed by first and second phases of metamorphism. The third phase of metamorphism is the case of the post tectonic growth of garnet on the foliation. Three generation of biotite has been identified. First group are parallel to S1 foliation and second group are syn-tectonic with the first stages of D2 phase of deformation and they are bigger than others. The last group is parallel to S2 foliation.
