   Abstract:
For analyzing geologic structures and tectonics of Jazmourian depression aeromagnetic data of Makran area were used. All of the necessary adjustments have been done on the data before. A preliminary investigation of the geological maps and satellite photo reveals that Jazmourian has been covered completely by alluviums and sand deposits and it is not practically possible to study the basement rocks. However, high intensity magnetic responses of the area which is an indicator of oceanic rocks, makes it feasible to study geomagnetic characteristic of the basement. Reduced to the North Pole data were used for modeling; and its vertical derivative for qualitative interpretation. Results prove that a rift has been located beneath the area and some north-south trending deep faults interrupt the basement. Type and depth of basement rocks and also thickness of overburden sediments can be determined from the constructed models.
