Estimation of Porosity and saturation of Water by usage of Well-Log, in one of Hydrocarbon Reservoir of Iran

   Abstract:
      Well logging is a method for studying physical properties of rocks. Porosity and water saturation are very important parameters in hydrocarbon reservoirs study and play an important role in determination of hydrocarbon reserve scale. The purpose of this research is to determine the porosity and water saturation in Ab-e-Teymour oil field by using sonic, density, resistivity and gamma logs obtained from four wells. With regard to the field geology, these wells are divided into four zones. Porosity prediction from sonic and density logs shows that porosity is high and the water saturation is low in zones 2 and 4. Therefore, the zones 2 and 4 are observed to be good for oil production.
