Study & comparison of time Migration Post & pre-StackOn 2D Seismic Data

Abstract:
      Migration is a process that reconstructs an image of the earth?s reflecting structure from elastic wave field energy recorded at the surface in seismic traces.
   In this paper the effect of both post and pre-stack time migration methods, is investigated by use of the Kirchhoff summation method on two seismic lines in central Iran area. The work is implemented by using PROMAX 6.0 software on ULTRA SUN system. In this way for comparison two operators on both of the lines, we performed all of the processing procedures until deconvolution with the same parameters. Then deconvolved data were applied for the post-and pre- stack time migration in Kirchhoff method and two migrated sections were compared. This research result is that pre-stack migration operator must be preferred special for complex areas.
