Abstract:
In this study, using the earthquake data, seismotectonic and risk analysis for area between 35? - 38? latitude and 52.5?- 57? longitude in Gorgan city was done. Time and place of distribution of epicenters and seismicity parameters, were analyzed and also the reacquiring periods of earthquakes with different magnitude were obtained and finally risk analysis was carried out. According to the results, this area has a great potential of seismicity. Analytical and probabilistic methods were used to obtain the seismicity coefficients. While the analytical method gives 0.5 g for acceleration, the statistical method gives amount less than 0.5 g. This study can give useful information for various organizations for performing industrial and economical projects.
