Abstract:
The area bounded by 34?.5~38?.5 N and 48?.5~ 52?.5E? including Ramsar and adjacent regions in a radius of about 150 km? is selected for the deterministic seismic hazard assessment. A catalog of earthquakes? including historically and instrumentally recorded events? from 4th century B.C. through November 2002? was collected for this area. Having selected an appropriate relationship? the maximum potential of different sources and maximum horizontal acceleration has been determined. A maximum horizontal acceleration of a bout 0.7g? resulting from Khzar?s fault? has been calculated for Ramsar City.
