   Abstract:
      On 26th December 2003, a destructive earthquake of magnitude Ms 6.5 occurred near the city of Bam in South west of Iran. Epicenter of the main shock was determined 58.38N and 29.08E and a focal depth of 13 km obtained for this event. The focal mechanism solution of the main shock indicates on right lateral strike slip motion with compressional component in good accordance with the Bam fault trace. The after shock distribution indicates a narrow seismic zone oriented NNW-SSE and clearly outlines the fault plane of the main rupture. This seismic zone is located on the left of the Bam fault reveals the most probable of the causative fault dip toward the West as it can be seen on the CMT solution calculated for the main shock. It seems that the 26th December 2003 of Bam Earthquake can be associated to the partially reactivation of the Bam fault.
   The preliminary of location of two days the activation of only 20km length of the Bam fault is as causative segment of the mentioned fault.
