Zinc mineralization in north of Iran (GSI Exploration Zone)

GIS applied to geological surveying and mineral explorations is considered as an efficient instrument in geosciences investigations, especially to compile potential mineralized zones. In this regard, Collection of numerous data layers. Such as geological maps, airborne geophysical informations, remote sensing datas, geochemical and mineral investigation maps and datas, are processed and modellized by the up to data methods and the areas are presented as the potential priorities for detailed prospecting and investigations. The presented report discusses one of the promessing exploration Zones of Iran, Chalus-Gorgan zone, situated North of Iran, across Caspian Sea. In the presented modelling, the datas have been processed and analyzed based on the four following groups:
1- Host geology, Consisiting of Plotonic, Carbonaceaus and medium felsic rocks datas.
2- Source, which have been adapter from remote Sensing geophysical, geochemical and geological datas.
3- Ore forming Processing, datas consist of two 0.F.P map in the final compilation.
4- Structural datas of the area have been obtained from geological , remote Sensing and geophysical datas.
Finally after preparation of the above four mentioned layers, and application of the appropriate constants, regarding the value of each layer for modelling, target and promissing map of Zn mineralization has been completed from the above mentional layers. The field control of the mineralization has been executed and the analysis results were satisfying.
Application of GIS in exploration is a short road to get a good result, in a shorter time and lower cost.
