Officials with the National Radio Astronomy Observatory said astronomer Felix Lockman has been elected to the American Astronomical Society council. For more than 14 years, Lockman has worked Pocahontas county observatory and is the first West Virginian elected to the board. According to the Council of the American Astronomical Society's Web site, the group is one of the largest of its kind, helps researchers with new discoveries and helps get the word out to the public on the advances in the field
