Perseus confirms extended gold mineralisation zones at Tengrela
Australian gold exploration company, Perseus Mining has confirmed multiple gold mineralisation zones following an aggressive drilling program within its Tengrela Gold Project. The company is conducting the first phase of a 50,000m reverse circulation drilling program planned for the Tengrela project, located on the Ivory Coast, near the Mali border. The Tengrela project is located immediately south of Resolute Mining Limited’s 6.8Moz Syama and Finkalo projects, along the same structural/stratigraphic corridor. The reverse circulation drilling results reported to date cover a 480m southern portion of the Sissingue prospect, where RAB drilling has delineated in situ mineralisation over 4km of a 6km long gold-in-soil anomaly. The company encountered multiple mineralised zones across a width of at least 750m. The RC drilling program will systematically test a number of the zones of significant mineralisation. Multiple significant intercepts confirmed within the Sissingue prospect included 16m at 3.4g/t, 14m at 2.1g/t, 26m at 1.6g/t and 8m at 2.6g/t Au. On the back of these drill results the company will continue the first phase of a 50,000m RC drilling program planned for the project.Gold mineralisation at Sissingue is associated with Birimian volcanics and meta-sediments that contain intensive silica, carbonate, albite alteration and accessory sulphides. Perseus has a net 80% interest in the Tengrela project, with 10% held by a local partner and 10% reserved for the Government at the mining stage.
