Murchison Metals has announced a significant increase in the JORC-compliant Mineral Resources at Jack Hills to 153 million tonnes, an increase of 58 percent over the prior reported figure of 97 million tonnes. The Jack Hills Mineral Resource now comprises 69.6 million tonnes of Direct Shipping Ore @ 60.3% Fe, and 83.4 million tonnes of beneficiation feed @ 42.3% Fe. This is an important step for the Jack Hills expansion project and provides Murchison with increasing confidence that the Jack Hills Project will deliver a substantial mineral resource to underpin its major expansion plans. Murchison Metals Executive Chairman, Paul Kopejtka said the new resource estimate clearly demonstrated the potential and quality of the Jack Hills Project. “To confirm a 58 percent increase in resources barely three months after the last reported update is an achievement that highlights the quality and potential scale of the Jack Hills Project,” he said. Mr Kopejtka said Murchison anticipated further resource increases as results from the company's extensive drilling program are received. An extensive resource definition program is continuing at Jack Hills, involving drilling and detailed metallurgical test work. Data from this ongoing exploration program will enable detailed mine design and pit and process optimisation to be completed as part of Murchison’s feasibility study.
