  Queensland based mining entrepreneur Terry Byrt will launch an Initial Public Offering (IPO) for Ansett Mining Corporation Ltd in early 2008 – to offer investors an opportunity to invest in a diversified resources company and pay homage to one of Australia’s most iconic brands, Ansett Australia.The assets to be part of the Ansett Mining IPO are currently being finalised, however it is expected it consist of up to ten highly prospective tenements in QLD (including coal, uranium and tin), a number of existing royalty agreements plus several successful mining services business.The company has recently signed agreements with ASX listed companies RMA Energy Limited, East Energy Limited and Bellevue Resources Limited regarding the provision of drill rigs and technical personnel to coordinate exploration at their respective projects in Queensland.Ansett Mining founder and Chairman Terry Byrt believes it is time for the Australian public to have the opportunity to once again see a company with the Ansett name trading on the ASX, albeit with a different focus. “Ansett Airlines was an iconic Australian company, and as an un-abashed Ansett tragic I would love nothing more than seeing the Ansett name back on the ASX in a positive manner,” Mr Byrt said.“Ansett Mining Corporation is committed to building a very successful diversified resources company and we hope to look back in years to come and be able to be proud of what we have built and how this positively promoted the Ansett name.“It would be my honour to chair a company that carries the Ansett name.”One of the largest private tenement holders in Queensland, Mr Byrt is also founder and Chairman of one of the most successful ASX listings of 2007 – RMA Energy Ltd, as well as recently listed resources company East Energy Resources Ltd. He is also a shareholder in a range of QLD focused resources companies.Mr Byrt has been issued a license to use the name Ansett Mining Corporation by the administrators of Ansett Australia Pty Ltd, who have been running the company since it was placed into administration and removed from trading on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) on 4 March 2002. Apart from the name, Ansett Mining Corporation and Ansett Australia Pty Ltd share no formal or informal links.
