An upgraded JORC-compliant resource estimate being prepared for Citadel Resource Group’s Jabal Sayid copper-zinc project in Saudi Arabia will benefit from historic data unveiled yesterday by the Sydney-based company.Citadel – which was re-listed on the ASX on Monday following its transformation from the previous ADV Group – said that newly recovered historical data had been verified and could now be used in the current upgrade of the Jabal Sayid (Citadel 50%) resource model.Citadel CEO, Inés Scotland said an electronic database of previous drilling results had been obtained from the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS), which provided significant additional detailed information previously unavailable to the project. The detailed historical data recovered from the Saudi Geological Survey contains material intersections at Jabal Sayid, with notable intersections including 300m at 1.30% Cu, 299m at 2.60% Cu, 139m at 1.27% Cu, and 121m at 2.78% Cu. Ms Scotland said work was underway to update and re-categorise the current Resource of 46Mt @ 1.8% Cu at Jabal Sayid.“The updated resource will be released in the first quarter of 2008 and will update tonnes and re-categorise some of the Resource from Inferred to Indicated,” Ms Scotland said.“It is clear that this database will be a valuable source of additional detailed assay and other information for the current updated resource program,” she said. The initial JORC compliant resource announced earlier this year for Jabal Sayid includes 828,000 tonnes of contained copper and 87,000 tonnes of contained zinc, but does not include results from Citadel’s successful 2007 drilling program on the expanding deposits.
