High-grade copper-gold at Yuinmery
Assay results announced yesterday have identified new and large high-grade copper-gold intersections at Empire Resources’ Yuinmery project in Western Australia. The results are from the first three of 12 reverse circulation holes for a total of 1,693m drilled by Empire in a follow-up program to test earlier intersections and a number of strong down hole and surface electromagnetic anomalies at Yuinmery, 475 km northeast of Perth. The first assays results are all from the Just Desserts prospect where drilling indicated multiple zones of high-grade copper-gold mineralisation dipping at approximately 60 degrees to the northeast. Best intersections, which are also close to true width, included 23m @ 2.68% Cu, 1.28 g/t Au from 80m, including 12m @ 4.37% Cu, 1.88 g/t Au from 80m; 13m @ 2.58% Cu, 0.39 g/t Au from 63m; 7m @ 4.23% Cu, 1.65 g/t Au from 106m; and 13m @ 2.55% Cu, 1.67 g/t Au from 106m.Empire’s Managing Director, David Sargeant said: “The results of the first three holes completed in the present drilling program at Just Desserts have confirmed our view that we are looking at potentially large zones of copper-gold mineralisation.” “We are particularly encouraged by the widths of mineralisation and the presence of multiple zones of mineralisation,” he said.“The Just Desserts prospect remains open along strike and has only been drilled to a shallow depth at this stage of our exploration”A total of eight holes were drilled at Just Desserts and four at other prospects, with assay results from all holes awaited.Mr Sargeant said the volcanogenic massive sulphide style mineralisation at Yuinmery is similar in nature to ore bodies currently being mined at Golden Grove and Jaguar in Western Australia.
