Jabiru Metals has received approval from the Victorian Department of Primary Industries for a program of diamond drilling to be completed at the Stockman Project, formerly Benambra Project, located in north-eastern Victoria.Jabiru’s drilling program, initially up to 8,000m of diamond drilling, is planned to commence in the first week of May 2008, with site works due to commence immediatelyThe company said the principle aim of the drilling at Wilga and Currawong will be to confirm the previously identified zinc-copper-lead-silver-gold mineralisation and 1999 JORC-compliant resources by generating a 2004 JORC-compliant resource estimate for these massive sulphide lenses.Jabiru has actively evolved a program of compilation and validation of historical drilling and geological and geochemical data, with the aim of incorporating much of this existing data into a new resource estimate. The company is also compiling and reviewing previous metallurgical and geotechnical studies, including material from the period of underground mining at Wilga between 1992 and 1996. Jabiru will use the diamond drill core produced from the upcoming program to complement previous metallurgical and geotechnical studies and will integrate this information into the Stockman mine plan and reserve calculations.
