International leaders in the minerals industry are in Darwin this week taking part....

International leaders in the minerals industry are in Darwin this week taking part in a conference hosted by the Minerals Council of Australia.Academics and industry groups will address the conference today, considering the impact of mine closures on the community and the environment.The five day conference will also hear from BP, Fortescue Metals, the CSIRO, Access Economics and the National Water Commission.There’ll also be input from a wide range of interest groups including World Vision and the Centre for Marine Studies.Among the international and Australian contributors there’ll be a dedicated portion of the conference addressing the role of Indigenous stakeholders in uranium mining.
