The Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources of Shandong Province had discovered another large gold mine with proven total gold resources of 103 tons and potential economic value of over 20 billion yuan in the deep crust of the Jiaojia metallogenic belt of Jiaodong, announced the Department of Land and Resources and the Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources of Shandong Province at a joint news briefing on October 27
This deposit is located in the southern part of the Jiaojia metallogenic belt in Laizhou City, east China’s Shandong Province, according to the
briefing.In the 1970s, Group Six of the Shandong Geologic Prospecting Team disccovered the Jiaojia gold mine, and originally submitted a report stating that the mine had a proven gold deposit of over 100 tons.Industry experts believe that now with the new discovery, there is a total of over 200 tons of gold deposit resources in the Jiaojia gold mine, signifying a huge prospecting potential in the belt.By People’s Daily Online
