Within the last two months, GSI has successfully obtained the certification for 4 gold areas in Kurdistan, and Sistan and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, and one iron and magnesium area in Esfahan Province.
According to the Public Relations of GSI, Eng. Behrouz Borna, deputy for exploration department, explained the approach of GSI to the hidden deposits discovery and said besides declaring of this news: within the last two months by the attempt of the GSI, certification has been issued for 4 gold area in Kurdistan, and Sistan and Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, and one iron and magnesium area in Esfahan Province.
He expressed his regret for the exploration budget and implied: Despite the small portion of budget allocated for exploration, GSI has been able to reach several exploration projects to certification issuance.
Borna added: The gold of Gholgholeh in Saghez Township of Kurdistan Province, with 4.12 tones of proved reserve and 4.21 tones of probable reserve, the gold of Gholbgholoojeh with 1 tone of proved reserve and 3.2 tones of probable reserve, and the gold of Korooyan in Kurdistan Province with 9.3 tones of proved reserve were successfully registered by the name of the Geological Survey of Iran, and their exploration certifications were obtained.
He mentioned that the allocated expense for exploration versus the high profitability of exploitation and operation was quite small, and said: identification of 38.18 tones of proved reserve and 6.23 tone of probable reserve measuring 1294 billion tomans is one of the achievements of GSI in the mentioned areas.
Borna informed about the discovery of more than 19,650,000 tones ironstone of % 16.31 grades, along with 28.2 magnesium in Chah Palang of Esfahan Province: Chal Neli region in Bazman with 8.3 tone of proved reserve and more than 10 tones of probable reserve has obtained exploration certification from the GSI.
Deputy of exploration of GSI added: the Geological Survey of Iran as a governing organization has succeeded to explore tremendous mineral deposits in different regions of Iran, which this needs to receive more attention from the officials.
Borna implied that the gold deposits had been unknown in the past, but fortunately due to systematic, significant and targeted studies, identification and exploration of gold deposits is applicable according to the standards.
He said beside expressing his satisfaction with the performance of his organization in identifications of minerals: GSI has carried out public exploration for most of strategic metallic and nonmetallic reserves, and has been successful in processing and ore dressing of most minerals, aimed at technical and economical enhancement of mining sector of Iran.
Borna stated that the private parts are not very interested in the mineral identification due to its investment high risk: by dominating investment in order to primary identification and exploration of potential mineral areas and proper economical rationalization, GSI tries to assign these regions to private part for further exploration.
He added: GSI as a governmental organization tries to perform exploration basements by facilitating preparation information such as airborne geophysic, geochemical maps, remote sensing and economic geology.
Deputy of exploration of the GSI said about the latest status of exploration: Currently there are 12,000 of potential mining concessions in Iran which 4720 of them are metallic and 7280 of them are nonmetallic, and 423 of them have been surveyed utilizing airborne geophysics.
