Emphasis on relations development between Iran and Tajikistan, along with the 36th National and 3rd International Geological Congress

Along with the 36th National and 3rd International Geological Congress, Dr. Razyeh Lak -Director General- had a meeting with Faizullozoda Zarobiddin –Director General of Geological Survey of Tajikistan- and Sobir Boboev -Deputy of Geological Survey of Tajikistan-, to explore existing strategies to expand cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan.
During The 36th National and 3rd International Geological Congress, Director General of Geological Survey of Tajikistan mentioned that Geological Survey of Iran has experts and experience in different fields of Earth Science.
Holding these congresses is very useful for the region and neighboring countries of Iran, and in addition, the regional also benefit the achievements of Geological Survey of Iran.
Iranian geologists have full knowledge of Tajikistan's geology and mineral potential, which is why Geological Survey of Tajikistan is willing to develop cooperation in the field of earth sciences in order to utilize the achievements of Iran in this field more than ever.
Foreign companies, including Germany and China, have invested in exploration studies on copper, gold, lead and zinc mines, which is why Tajikistan has a strong desire to develop its relations with Iran.
Common language and culture between Iran and Tajikistan will contribute significantly to development of Tajikistan, and Tajikistan will use Iran to explore and exploit its mines and develop its investment.
"In the past, we had a good experience in the field of scientific and technical studies of earth sciences in Tajikistan," Dr. Lak said. Due to the existing credits, we have carried out extensive activities in fields of marine geology, development of laboratories for mineral analysis, medical geology, development of Geodatabase, and training of experts the Geological Survey of Tajikistan.
Developing explorations and studies on Geohazards, including subsidence and earthquakes, as new projects in Iran and Tajikistan, and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran appreciates development of cooperation in the field of earth sciences with this country. Tajikistan is a target country for Iran. Accordingly, a draft study on Geohazard studies and earth science education should be prepared and sent to Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iran.
Signing Memorandum of Understanding between Geological Survey of Iran, Geological Survey of Tajikistan and IMIDRO is another issue for development of Earth Science and its activities in Tajikistan.
Director General of Geological Survey of Tajikistan’s visit to Geological Survey of Iran North-East Territory
Before presence of Mr. Zarobiddin in Tehran to attend the 36th National and 3rd International Geological Congress, he visited Geological Survey of Iran North-East Territory, and at a joint meeting with the presence of Dr. Taheri, Director of Geological Survey of Iran North-East Territory, they outlined the technical plans for Geological Survey of Tajikistan in recent years.
Dr. Taheri announced readiness of Geological Survey of Iran North-East Territory for any technical activities within the framework of the protocols, and mentioned the experiences like training course for experts the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan and students of the Polytechnic University of Kabul in recent years.
