International geophysics conference to be held in Tehran

The 11th geophysics conference is to be held in Tehran in the premises of the Iranian Geology Organization on December 1, it was reported on Wednesday. According to the public relations office of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the chairman of the Iranian Geophysics Association Dr Hossein Zomorrodian said that the main objective of the three-day conference will be to provide an opportunity for the professionals and university students to get acquainted with the latest technical and scientific findings on geophysics and related subjects. The provision of effective approaches to promote the awareness and technical knowledge of geophysicists, while the improvement of training methods on geophysics in the Iranian higher education centers and universities are among the secondary objectives of the conference. Iran`s dire need for high expertise and knowledge on geophysics subjects is due to its very rich mineral resources, he noted adding that more than 500 scholars and researchers would participate in the conference and would offer the results of their studies to the audience.
